If you a fan of Nicolas Cage, you might be inclined to see "Knowing", but if you are just a casual movie-watcher, you should probably wait for the DVD, if you even see this movie at all.
Cage stars as John Koestler, an MIT professor and astrophysicist, who comes across a sheet of paper that seemingly predicted disasters the have already occured and some in the future. The paper was buried in a time capsule at Cage's son's elementary school, the concoction of a strange girl in 1959 (played by Lara Robinson).
The plot had some intrigue going in, but they only played upon a couple of future disasters, and only highlighted a few that were correctly predicted from the past.
Cage has made some pretty bad movies lately (Bangkok Dangerous, Next, Ghost Rider), and at this point, he should just make more National Treasures, because those movies are wonderful.
The special effects in "Knowing" seem to be more 1959 than 2009, and the story just kind of ends, with no real supremely climactic moment.
